ACLU Calls New Senate Terrorism Bill Significantly Worse Than House Version

Updated Action Alert!

Urge Your Senators
To Reject Anti-Terrorism Legislation!

The American Civil Liberties Union is urging the Senate to reject the newest version of proposed anti-terrorism legislation, saying that it poses significantly more danger to civil liberties than the measure adopted earlier this week by the House Judiciary Committee.
"The new Senate legislation goes far beyond any powers conceivably necessary to fight terrorism in the United States," said Laura W. Murphy, Director of the ACLU’s Washington National Office. "The long-term impact on basic freedoms in this legislation cannot be justified."

(ORLANDO, FL - September 25, 2001) - The House of Blues invites Central Florida to experience a soul-stirring event-the Third Annual "Where the Art Meets the Soul" Folk Art Festival.
Occurring in conjunction with DOWNTOWN DISNEY's Festival of the Masters, on the weekend of November 10 & 11 from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM the HOB sidewalks will come alive with colorful artwork and inspiring stories from prominent national and regional Folk Artists.
Moreover, House of Blues celebrates the unique visions of self-taught artists who pour spirit into their artwork often using found materials. For the first time ever, the House of Blues-Orlando will welcome nationally recognized, premier folk artist Purvis Young. Known for his depictions of life in inner city Miami, Purvis shows images of hope alongside of distress.
His work expresses pure emotion from the subject matter to his choice of canvas - discarded boards that he collects from his community. Part of the HOB collection, Purvis painted the 20-foot fence at the Orlando venue.
Finally, Purvis was recently honored by the Smithsonian American Museum. In addition to Purvis Young, Orlando will meet over thirty other folk artists. From Ab the Flagman's constructions of the American Flag using recycled materials to the work of Mary Proctor who transforms doors into art using paint and found objects such as pottery, jewelry and bottle caps, guests will find the artists diverse, dynamic and awe-inspiring. Other artists in attendance include: Bettye Williams, Brian Dowdall, Don Stone,
Glenn Fox, Harry Teague, Mr. Imagination, James Gibson (An Original Highwayman), Jim Shores, John Richards, Jon Nix, Kim Clayton, Lizzy Williams, Mary Ellen Zeman, Rene Pierre, Richard Sinclair, Ruth Mae McCrane, Primitive Eye Folk Art Gallery, Cavanaugh & Blue Gallery and Jeanine Taylor Folk Art, to name a few.
The HOB Folk Art Festival is not just for the art collector. The
International House of Blues Foundation (IHOBF), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting cultural understanding and creative expression through art and music, will host children's hands-on art projects led by a variety of folk artists. Music lovers can groove to a diverse lineup of bands including a set by folk artist Ab the Flagman's band. Additionally, guests may taste the HOB delicious Mississippi Delta-inspired cuisine in the Restaurant or the lakeside Voodoo Garden. Such items as Creole Jambalaya and White Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding are always in high demand during this weekend celebration.
Admission to the House of Blues Third Annual "Where the Art Meets the Soul" Folk Art Festival is FREE!

AMERICAN HEAD CHARGE: A Wacky Cinderella Story?

Not too long ago, American Head Charge co-founders Martin Cock and Chad Hanks met in a Minneapolis rehab center. A short time after that, they were discovered by legendary producer Rick Rubin (Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down, Johnny Cash) and found themselves in a Hollywood Hills haunted mansion recording their debut CD. This past summer, they generated chaos and a huge buzz on their first major tour -- Ozzfest 2001. Their first promo video featured "Portrait of a Serial Killer" star Michael Rooker, and, beginning next month, they join the "Pledge of Allegiance" tour, having been personally chosen by members of the tour's co-headliners, Slipknot. Is this a rock'n'roll Cinderella story for the 21st century?
According to Alternative Press, "AHC's debut CD, 'The War of Art,' is an industrial-strength mixture of metal and melody, with enough engaging aural flourishes and stylistic gear shifting to keep a listener's attention.
Though AHC shows have involved everything from spilled blood to burning American flags to shotguns fired into the crowd, don't be fooled. The music
is the point..."

In response to numerous requests from Lamb fans
asking when the next single will be released we can tell you all that 'Gabriel' will finally drop on 1st October.
The new website has been updated with the lyrics, sound and video so please check it out and let them know your thoughts.

Marz-Insane Clown Posse
feud spills over to discs

Published September 5, 2001 Chicago Tribune by Brad Webber

There's nothing like an Insane Clown scorned, says Chicago industrial rapper Marz, who was tossed off the Insane Clown Posse's Dark Lotus project because the ICP's fans were taking a bit too much of a liking to him.
"The Juggalos [rabid fans of the wrestling-mask attired Insane Clown Posse] started digging us," Marz tells Inc. "So the Posse went on their Web site and basically said, `To all the Juggalos: Stop liking Marz.'"
Marz (whose real name is Zlatko Hukic) tells us the feud has gotten so bad, the Insane Clown Posse has pulled 80,000 copies of Dark Lotus' "Tales from the Lotus Pod" from stores, despite the fact the disc debuted atop Billboard magazine's August chart of top-selling indie records. The very dirty disc will be re-recorded without Hukic's contributions.
"Any part of it that's real [was my contribution]," says the 29-year-old Marz.

System of a Down Speaks

"Our whole world has been sickened by the terrible events in New York and D.C. I've been calling out to friends all week to make sure they're ok. My heart goes out to all the families suffering because of this madness.

As American citizens, we are in the privileged position to be able to speak our hearts, even if other people disagree. I highly value the fact that I can make a statement with my intention being to sponsor peace and understanding of the tragic events that have been unfolding. I ask only that, for the long-term survival of our planet, we all concentrate on positive energies in our lives while pursuing justice.

I would not be alive if not for the American orphanages that raised my grandfather after the Armenian Genocide of 1915, so I have a lot of love and respect for the good things that America has and can continue to achieve."

-Serj Tankian, vocalist, System of a Down
