It was a great night in general. Some of the best goth/industrial DJ’s from all over the state were there. The crowd was steadily coming in, and you could see everyone excited about the show. And as usual in south Florida, you see people very dressed up to go out. They really do blow a lot of time and money, getting ready to go out. Then blow even more getting messed up. But it’s all good. Although the DJ’s were playing great music all night, the crowd was getting a little restless and impatient for LAM to perform. Which I must admit so was I. They didn’t even get to the venue until about 12:30 AM. Partially due to the fact their sound check didn’t end until about 9 PM and still had to go back to their hotel to get ready. After they finally got there they were brought a few cases of Corona. I got a chance to hang out with them before the show. This and also my interview held them up from playing that much more. When they finally went on stage at about 1:30, the crowd was quite excited and relieved. The mix of their newer songs as well as their old ones was nice. I noticed many of the crowd who seemed to be in a state of bliss just getting to see the band live and hear many of their favorite songs. At a few points some fans came up on stage to dance, take photos with the band or kiss a member of the band. Talking to Michael later (still with lipstick on his cheek), this is a common occurrence for them. Joe S, a native of south FL, seemed to be a nice newer addition on drums and full of energy. The rest of the lineup included Michel, Sean and Eddie (AKA Gizmo) on the front of the stage; getting the crowd into the music. Tamyln was on synth adding loops and samples into the mix. One of the new songs that most people seemed to enjoy was “Love you to Death”. The show was great. As a LAM fan myself I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I plan to go see them the next time they tour anywhere close to me. |
