1987

A mostly true story.

The wandering undead Goths roamed the highways feeding and looting. They were on a mission, but not from God.  They journeyed to New Orleans, the dark Mecca where their icon was set to appear to them.  At the end of their long trek they lay collapsed in the grass like sprawling black weeds.  They lay dormant for hours until the guardians of the temple woke them to make way for the prophet.  Through hours of waiting and foraging for shelter, the temple gates rose open and the prophets chariot thundered into the cavernous opening cutting through the cheering mass of devout followers.

From the darkness a hand reached out to signal the gates to be held. The prophet stepped from the darkness and moved toward a small pocket of followers, so overwhelmed in his presence the rotting disciples stood nearly motionless but for their dropping jaws.

One however rose up and rushed toward him…

Though a powerful figure himself, he trembled in her presence...

She rushed him him and attacked!

She screeched in beautiful agony...

Though he survived the encounter,

it was clear he would never quite be the same again.

The disciples worshiped at the temple throughout the prophets sermon,

then listlessly shuffled off into the night.

The future awaits …
