BUCKCHERRY EXTEND U.S. TOUR IN SUPPORT OF ‘FIFTEEN’ THEIR NEW ALBUM RELEASED APRIL 11 NONPOINT AND REVELATION THEORY ADDED AS SUPPORT
While the buzz continues to grow for BUCKCHERRY’s current radio single, “Crazy Bitch,” America’s hottest rocking band have extended their national tour to include dates with Nonpoint and Revelation Theory. Houston, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Kansas City are a few of the key cities that have confirmed additional stops.
Meanwhile, BUCKCHERRY--founders lead singer JOSH TODD and co-writer/guitarist KEITH NELSON as well as three new members--XAVIER MURIEL (drums), STEVIE D. (guitars) and bassist JIMMY ASHHURST---just launched their new album FIFTEEN on April 11 with a sold-out show in New York City at Irving Plaza. The band continues to receive high critical acclaim from the media for their first studio effort as BUCKCHERRY in four years:
“Fave cuts so far: the quite funky and punky ‘Crazy Bitch,’ which might necessitate being turned down in an office setting though not onstage, and the blooze-shuffle-opened ‘Brooklyn,’ about taking the subway to get laid by groupies then heading up to Detroit for more of the same.“ --Chuck Eddy, VILLAGE VOICE, April 6, 2006
“The group's unapologetic ode to sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll is about as diluted as a shot of grain alcohol and as subtle as a sledgehammer banging on your temple after a long night of smoke and whiskey.” --Julia Neyman, WASHINGTON TIMES, April 11, 2006
"...The self-effacing power ballad 'Sorry' and bluesy acoustic 'Brooklyn' are alluring. 'Crazy Bitch' updates such obscene classics as Kiss’ Plaster Caster and Christine Sixteen..." --Brian Towie, METRO TORONTO, April 12, 2006
“Existing Buckcherry fans will love this album as Josh Todd and the boys continue to rock like their previous two albums (Buckcherry and Time Bomb). With blues-based rock ala AC/DC and Supagroup, this album will be one of my favorites in 2006. Rating: 9.3/10.” --Jacocrew, ULTIMATE GUITAR, February 28, 2006

LET’S ROCK AGAIN! JOE STRUMMER DOCUMENTARY FILM DIRECTED BY DICK RUDE OUT JUNE 27 ON IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT
LET’S ROCK AGAIN!, an intimate and fascinating portrait of JOE STRUMMER--the undisputed pioneer of punk and legendary frontman for The Clash--will be released June 27 on DVD via Image Entertainment, Inc.
Directed by filmmaker and long-time Strummer friend Dick Rude, LET’S ROCK AGAIN! provides an insider’s view including touching personal interviews, revealing backstage footage shot in the 18 months leading up to Strummer’s death in 2002. The film begins with a montage of Strummer’s illustrious start as frontman for the iconic punk band The Clash and moves into his life years later as the documentary hits the road with Strummer’s new band The Mescaleros.
Dispelling the punk persona, LET’S ROCK AGAIN! reveals the die-hard performer who gives it all onstage with vibrant and passionate performances as well as showcasing Strummer’s candidly sharp wit and his innate storytelling charm. Rude opens the door to a previously private view of a legendary man.
”LET’S ROCK AGAIN!” is a story about love, following your passion and never giving up. It is a film made to turn people on and inspire them to seek out the good things in life worth living for.” Dick Rude explains, “It has been my humble blessing to share Joe Strummer's final message and music with the world and I hope it stirs your soul the way it has done mine.”
Check out the critical reaction for LET’S ROCK AGAIN!:
“…Much in the way that last year’s posthumous Streetcore record gave fans one last listen to Strummer, Rude’s film has taken on an added emotional resonance as some of the last documentation of a punk legend.” --Andrew Dansby, Rolling Stone (4/5/04)
“…a must-add to the DVD shelves of any serious contemporary music fan.” --Eddie Cockrell, Daily Variety (7/12/04)
“It’s a must-see and must-listen for Strummer and Clash fans; but it’s also for everyone else.” --Desson Thompson, Washington Post (6/11/04)

‘Catchy cuddle-rock’ – Rolling Stone, 10 Bands to Watch 2006
‘If all your childhood stuffed animals got together and started a band, it might sound like the boy least likely to whose cutesy indie rock songs have more snap, crackle and pop than a bowl of Rice Krispies’ – Rolling Stone, 3 1/2 star review
‘This pop confection sounds sort of like Belle and Sebastian playing Pet Sounds using only instruments found in a kindergarten classroom.’ – CMJ Monthly, Cover Artist
‘Sensitve-guy manifesto ‘Be Gentle With Me’ comes courtesy of cuddly-cute new Britpop crew The Boy Least Likely To. Full of freshly plucked banjo and sprightly xylophone, It’s fit for a Teletubbies episode’. – Entertainment Weekly
‘Twinkly, twee pop to share with your post-breakup rebound. ‘Be Gentle with Me’ is the single of the month for anyone who relates to the bald guy from High Fidelity.’ – Spin
‘A thing of wonder, made of rubber and springs’ – Pitchfork, 8.5 album review
‘A slightly twee, optimistic record…charming with its melodies and rattling with unusual noises’ – LA Times, Buzz Band
‘Their irresistible, homemade ‘country-disco’ debut charms with unusual instrumentation and an earnest lyrical nostalgia for childhood.’ – The Village Voice

‘The perfect record to usher in the warmer weather of Spring, as we leave the gloom of winter behind us....Maybe even treat yourself to an ice cream cone...because you deserve it.’ – The Tripwire
You might expect the childlike songs from this British duo to have a "dong" between numbers. Turn the page? Banjo, recorder, glockenspiel and xylophone hearken back to Gram Parsons and 'Smile'-era Beach Boys – AOL
‘You’d need a brick in your heart cavity not to love ‘em’’- NME
‘A delightfully wonky folk-pop creation’ - Q
‘Thank God for The Boy Least Likely To. This is what the underdog can peacefully call his (or her) own. It’s a dour and seductive mix of Death Cab For Cutie, Damon Gough, Nick Drake and Belle And Sebastian.’ - The Fly
‘A refreshing, vivid and delightfully wayward album. It’s bursting with pinky-plonky melodies bashed out on toy xylophones, thematically linked songs about love and other disasters, and chirpy folk songs.’ - The Daily Telegraph (UK)
‘Ridiculously perfect concoctions, rooted in the Beach Boys, The Sarah and Postcard labels and, well, the Archies. The sound of a mythical, halcyon school disco, they make the Magic Numbers sound like Marilyn Manson.’ - The Guardian (UK)
‘Twinkly duo meddling with all the best bits of 80’s pop – Aztec Camera, Prefab Sprout, and Scritti Politti – and busy building a fanbase faster than you can say ‘the new Magic Numbers’. Banjos are involved.’ - Time Out London

ANBERLIN
ANNOUNCE JULY CANADIAN TOUR WITH HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS AND STORY OF THE YEAR AS THEIR CURRENT ‘NEVER TAKE FRIENDSHIP PERSONAL’ ALBUM SURPASSES SALES OF 100,000 COPIES, VIDEO FOR SECOND SINGLE “PAPERTHIN HYMN” NOW AIRING ON FUSE, MTVU AND MTV.COM
Currently in midst of the nationwide sold-out co-headlining U.S. Tooth and Nail Tour, ANBERLIN--who fuse frenzied and potent rock with gorgeously crafted pop--have announced they’ll join Story Of The Year and Hawthorne Heights for a Canadian trek that begins July 13 in Quebec City and wraps July 25 in Vancouver. In addition, the band will join Hawthorne Heights for a handful of U.S. shows, to be announced soon. First, ANBERLIN will head to Haiti in May to help build an orphanage for underprivileged youth outside the capital of Port-Au-Prince. ANBERLIN frontman STEPHEN CHRISTIAN explains the inspiration for the trip: “Ghandi has a quote, ‘Become the change you wish to see in the world.’ This opportunity came along and we decided to make it happen. Hopefully, it will inspire others to make an impact and volunteer in their communities.”
After building strong critical momentum in the U.S. and abroad, ANBERLIN’s current NEVER TAKE FRIENDSHIP PERSONAL album has now sold over 100,000 copies on Seattle indie Tooth and Nail. “We’re humbled,” STEPHEN notes. “It’s amazing when you decide to live out your dreams in life the whole world conspires to help you.” In addition, the new video for their second single “Paperthin Hymn” can now be seen on FUSE, MTVU and MTV.COM. ANBERLIN shot the video for “Paperthin Hymn” in Los Angeles with director Chris Sims (As I Lay Dying, Emanuel, Coachella--art direction for the film). Filmed entirely within a broken-down hospital, the performance-based video depicts a somber love story.
In her Billboard (3/28/06) single review, writer Christa Titus praised the song noting:
“In the aftermath of a breakup, anger and sadness drag the sufferer on an emotional roller coaster. Anberlin’s ‘Paperthin Hymn’ reflects that seesawing of pain and aggression in rich style: men who lathe sappy songs will appreciate the hard-edged expression of those sentiments. Joseph Milligan and Nathan Strayer’s muscular guitars make the channeling effective. For the roaring choruses, the guitars work like two rhythm sections, one playing what sounds like a burning version of the lick in Don Henley’s ‘The Boys of Summer.’ Nathan young’s propulsive drums and Deon Rexroat’s almost subliminal bassline brace the structure. Topped with Stephen Christian’s earnest vocals, it is a tough song with great chops all around.”
NEVER TAKE FRIENDSHIP PERSONAL is the follow-up to ANBERLIN’s acclaimed 2003 release Blueprints For The Black Market. Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Pedro The Lion, MxPx), the goal was to capture the band’s onstage force in the studio. Mixing the alluring and vibrant vocals of STEPHEN CHRISTIAN, the invigorating riffs of guitarist JOSEPH MILLIGAN, the melodic onslaught of guitarist NATHAN STRAYER and the rhythmic achievements of bassist DEON REXROAT and drummer NATHAN YOUNG, NEVER TAKE FRIENDSHIP PERSONAL delivers as a diverse, captivating and cohesive rock & roll album.
Here’s a sample of recent critical acclaim for ANBERLIN:
“[Anberlin] the Florida-based alternative pop/rock/emo band is one of the shining lights in the Tooth and Nail Records stable. Anberlin plays a brand of hook-rich rock that is both uplifting (positive lyrics manage to connect succinctly with current teenage angst) and extremely hip-moving.” --Paul Andersen, SAN BERNARDINO SUN, (April 24, 2006)
“Driving, retro-futuristic power pop with a refreshingly un-ironic ‘80’s vibe and more hooks than a bait shop.” --ALTERNATIVE PRESS (3/05)
“…Cheap Trick-influenced, power-pop rock on their vibrant new album…” --Amy Sciarretto, MEAN STREET, 3/05
“…plentitude of hooks coupled to bright power pop textures and intermittent rocky danceability…” --Jamie Lee Rake, HM MAGAZINE, 3/05
“On ‘Personal’ the boys up the ante with melodic guitar anthems and bigger, better-written songs…The title track explodes out of the box like a caged beast and positions itself as a barometer for things to come. And from there, the songs get better and better, proving that this young band will not be duplicating the same old same old.” --Che Brooks, ZERO MAGAZINE, 3/05
“…fusing elements as disparate as The Smiths and Motown has allowed the group to emerge with a lightweight yet brawny brand of pop that sets it ahead of the myriad other acts contending for mainstream attention.” --Jed Beaudoin, F5, 2/16/06

Talkdemonic Announce Additional Tour Dates with Quasi and The Walkmen in Support of Beat Romantic
Talkdemonic has confirmed additional U.S. live dates after a successful tour which included SXSW and shows with The National, Go! Team and Scout Niblet. Quasi hand-picked Talkdemonic for their upcoming west coast tour and the band will also open for The Walkmen on select dates.
Talkdemonic released its second album, Beat Romantic, through Arena Rock Recording Company on March 21, 2006. The duo is Kevin O’Connor and Lisa Molinaro; together they are a complicated, multidimensional force churning out hair-raising compositions. O’Connor captures the power and curiosity of his compositions through his drumming and synths but it takes the addition of Molinaro to bring out the true wonder of the songs. Her beautiful viola parts pulling at the listener’s heart while O’Connor works the head and the feet. Willamette Week named Talkdemonic as Portland’s Best New Band in 2005.
The group will perform live on the commercial radio station, Indie 103 in Los Angeles on Wednesday, April 26, prior to the gig at Spaceland with Quasi.
TALKDEMONIC TOUR DATES Sat 4/22 Sacramento, CA @ Blue Lamp w. Quasi Mon 4/24 San Diego, CA @ The Casbah w. Quasi Wed 4/26 Los Angeles, CA @ Spaceland w. Talkdemonic Quotes
“Combining Kevin O'Connor's live drums and electronic beats/sounds with Lisa Molinaro's viola and synths, Talkdemonic create wistful, textured rainy day music.” –Pitchforkmedia.com
“…Lisa Molinaro’s sweeping viola lines render vocals superfluous. Layered among computerized loops, O’Conner’s live percussion – so often just played by a laptop in these sorts of bands – is rich and dynamic, bringing harmony and texture to sounds too often relegated to simply keeping time.” - CMJ
“Talkdemonic beats the shit out the drums, and whips out a sweet line on the harmonium. And don't even get me started on that flute. Jesus. Highly Recommended.” –music.for-robots.com
“Where a lot of SXSW was about clothes and money and trends, Talkdemonic got attention because they sound different. The formula's simple: Lisa Molinaro's viola, Kevin O'Connor's drums, and urgency. The rest is left up to the duo's mood on any given night and how well their low-key samples (banjo, guitar, and bass via laptop) are mixed into the live instruments. The rhythms and peaks and valleys they create keep you watching to see where they're going, whether they'll drop off into an ambient viola buzz or bust ass forward with drums that sound like rock but are really hiphop.” – Portland Mercury
Talkdemonic is the Portland duo of Kevin O’Connor and Lisa Molinaro, who get a lot of newfangled mileage out of a genre-defiant melange of electronic-speckled, folkesque, distantly hip-hop-referential music on their recent Beat Romantic album, some of which is chillingly beautiful, quirky and imaginatively moody. – LA Weekly
An undercurrent of stoicism and poise runs throughout Talkdemonic's songs, similar to that found in such films as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers. – SF Weekly

Chatham County Line Releases Speed of the Whippoorwill on May 30th, 2006
Chatham County Line releases their 3rd studio album, Speed of the Whippoorwill through Yep Roc on May 30th, 2006. The collection of 14 original new songs captures the live show excitement that Chatham County Line has honed on the road. It is through touring that the band has perfected their blend of instrumental prowess, harmony singing, and original composition.
It is easy for the listener to instantly peg the band into a specific genre but singer/guitarist, Dave Wilson explains, “We see ourselves more like a rock band without a drummer and cables than a 1940’s traditional bluegrass band.” He continues, “You see us up there with acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, stand-up bass, singing into a single microphone, all wearing suits, and you think we’re a gonna sound like the Kingston Trio, but listen up ‘cause you’re gonna get rocked.” With this mindset, the quartet has branched out into playing rock clubs as well as traditionally known bluegrass and country venues over the last few years.
For the new album, Chatham County Line decided to try a different producer. Hands-on Chris Stamey (Ben Folds, Whiskeytown, Caitlin Cary) produced their debut, Chatham County Line (2003) and Route 23 (2005). For Speed Of The Whippoorwill, the band chose to work with Brian Paulson (Roesbuds, Beck, Wilco).
Dave Wilson recalls, “Sometimes you just want to cross the street and eat at a different restaurant, no matter how good the food is where you are,” adding, “Stamey was more of a perfectionist, interested in getting the best take where as Brian was about capturing a sonic ambience. He would tell us when we captured the feeling of a song rather than when we didn’t make mistakes, and a good record relies more on the heart than the mind sometimes.”
Chatham County Line has confirmed the following tour dates – more will be announced shortly, including club dates. Please consult http://chathamcountyline.com/shows.html for additional details.

Original Samples drummer Jeep MacNichol unveils his new side project, Mr. Anonymous.
CD features collaborations with Sly & Robbie, Bounty Killer, Cutty Ranks, Barrington Levy, Dave Wakeling from the English Beat
Mr. Anonymous is the first artist album released on Ryuichi Sakamoto’s KAB America label
Jeep MacNichol, original Samples drummer 1987-1997, recently traveled to Kingston, Jamaica armed with an acoustic guitar and drum machine. His goal was to record the ultimate chill-vibe party album with his heroes of reggae music. Teaming up with music legends Sly and Robbie, Bounty Killer, Black Uhuru's Michael Rose, and Dave Wakeling from The English Beat, MacNichol created a unique blend of reggae, trip-hop and dub titled, Mr. Anonymous.
MacNichol tracked the album during a ten-week period that involved three separate trips to Jamaica. On one such trip, Jeep recorded with well-known rapper, Cutty Ranks. "I was fortunate enough to stay at his place," says Jeep. "Every morning I would wake up to the sound of Cutty cranking tunes on his boom box and singing lyrics at top volume. We would hang out under the palm trees in his backyard, smoke fat joints, and write lyrics all afternoon. It was an incredible experience."
"This album," says Jeep, "is about enjoying the moment and taking in the experience. "There are songs about love, family, sex and life." Highlights include "Good Vibe," featuring a signature Dave Wakeling vocal sound wrapped around the melodic, rhythmic vocals of Michael Rose. "Shylean" features Dr. Dre-style keyboard stabs against a hip-hop groove. Bounty Killer throws out the same aggressive, throaty vocal sound on "Shylean" as he did on No Doubt's hit single, "Hey Baby".
"Working with these guys was the experience of a lifetime. I spent every second of my high school years listening to most of them, studying their different styles, and teaching myself how to play drums to their tunes," says MacNichol. "To go from that, to working and writing in the studio with these guys still blows me away."

The New Album from JUNKIE XL due out April 18 on ULTRA Records.
With his signature poor boy cap and tie, JUNKIE XL aka Tom Holkenborg is one of electronic music’s most celebrated musicians. An often gorgeous journey through Holkenborg’s musical interests, Today is occasionally shot through with riff-rock immediacy, and more often recalls the melodic beauty of New Order, while sometimes throbbing and pulsing like a house record. It’s an album born out of the early winter months of 2005 when Holkenborg relocated from Amsterdam to the Venice Beach area of Los Angeles to concentrate on film, video game and commercial projects.
The predecessor to Today, Radio JXL - A Broadcast from the Computer Hell Cabin (2002) was a virtual, dream-like pirate radio station with the voices of Solomon Burke, Peter Tosh, Chuck D, Dave Gahan, Robert Smith and others strewn across clever, beat-laden JUNKIE XL creations. On Today, Holkenborg goes back to basics by reverting to the more guitar-based sound (yes, he also plays guitar and lots of it!) of his first two discs--Saturday Teenage Kick (1997), Big Sounds of the Drags (1999)--and the use of just one singer, newcomer Nathan Mader who also co-wrote the lyrics for “Drift Away,” “We Become One,” and “Even In This Moment.” Long-time friend and collaborator Lucas Banker was also involved in writing the album.
Currently JUNKIE XL is on his ‘Feels Like Today Tour’ – titled after a verse from “Today.” Remaining dates include:
