PIANIST SETS UNIQUE WORLD RECORD

May 25, 2006 (Rome, Italy) -- Christian Calcatelli, composer pianist from Rome, Italy, has been awarded a unique official Guinness World Records certificate for setting the world's longest solo music internet broadcast. Christian improvised on a Steinway D concert grand piano for 60 hours and 1 minute at the international fundraising event known as "The Calx Project" which took place at the Galleria Alberto Sordi in Rome, Italy, on 15-17 September 2004. This original event, conceived by Christian Calcatelli and realized with Zillion Productions, had the goal of raising the public's awareness on the problems that too many children are facing and the simple steps all can take to help. This was achieved by merging music and the internet's audio and video broadcast technologies to spread this powerful message which brought to the forefront humanitarian agency PLAN International's programs for children in South America.

"Christian rides on melodies in every mood - from happy to sad – changing according to how he felt, according to what was going on around him, within him!" Italian newspaper Il Tempo writes. "His friends were with him, all the public cheered for him - the whole world indeed: passers-by, tourists - everyone was there listening in amazement, and those who just had to leave returned hours later to check on the progress and listen to more music!" The Calx Project was followed by tens of thousands of listeners, on location and over the internet.

This World Record is unique as it is the only attempt in this category to be officially recognized by Guinness World Records. Photographs, video clips and sound clips from the event are freely available at the composer's website on the following link: http://www.calcatelli.com/index.php?page=tcp04worldrecord

Another project - worthy of a record of its own - was listening and watching the nearly 60 hours of available audio and video recorded live at The Calx Project. Christian Calcatelli undertook this task with a view to selecting several tracks which have been collected on a two CD collection ironically entitled 'A Broken Record' vol. 1 & 2. These 2 electronic CDs are filled to the brink with music improvised at this historic concert and are exclusively available from the composer's website www.calcatelli.com as high quality MP3 downloads for use on any iPOD, MP3 player and of course may be burned to a normal CD format.

Christian's initial interest in music began by discovering the soundtracks that gave life to golden age cartoons from Disney and MGM. Triggered by curiosity, he taught himself how to read music and plunk the first notes on the piano which eventually led to his formal music studies at the S. Cecilia Conservatory of Rome. Today, at 25 years of age, Christian has treasured all the teachings received through his classical studies and made them his own, developing a personal, intimate style of piano playing and improvisation.

"Most of my music is born from improvisation" Christian says. "It lives from what is around me – people, thoughts, and feelings. I like to explore the complete range of colors that the piano can offer – primarily because I play the piano as my personal orchestral palette. With today's problems and increasing negativity, my goal is to give someone a positive experience – because listening to something that is appealing to one's emotions can really make a difference, even change one's outlook on life!"

Today, Christian is presenting and marketing his music as an independent artist, using the internet as his primary business tool and proudly selling his CD's on CDBABY.com. He appreciates listening to every genre of music from Mozart, Bach and Chopin to Celine Dion, U2, Christina Aguilera, James Blunt and others. Not to forget is the interest he has in movie scores, as his main goal is to become a movie, TV and multimedia composer.

POWERMAN 5000

TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM, DESTROY WHAT YOU ENJOY, OUT 8/1

New York, NY – DRT recording artist Powerman 5000 will release their much anticipated new album, Destroy What You Enjoy, on August 1.

With a new label and a new line up, Destroy What You Enjoy promises to be the most exciting PM5K release to date. The album was produced by Mudrock (Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack), who also co-produced the band’s major label debut, Mega!! Kung Fu Radio, and was recorded at the Hobby Shop in Eagle Rock, CA. The album was mixed by Dave Schiffman (Audioslave, Johnny Cash, System of a Down).

Destroy What You Enjoy resonates with a crunch that brings the band back to their indie roots. Some of the album’s stand-out tracks include the anthemic first single, “Wild World,” as well as the trash-punk inspired “Return To The City Of The Dead,” and "Enemies”.  “The sound that you hear on 'Destroy What You Enjoy', is the sound of a real rock 'n roll band,” comments vocalist Spider. “The drums aren't perfect, the guitars feedback and the vocals don't always find the right note. In other words, it's the best record we've ever made.”

Powerman 5000’s line up has also evolved to match their new album’s sound with the addition of guitarists Terry Corso and Johnny Heatley to the rhythm section of drummer Adrian Ost, bassist Siggy Siursen.

Listen for “Wild World” to hit radio June 19, followed by a national tour beginning July 7.

MORNINGWOOD

HEADLINES SUMMER

 “TOUR OFF YOUR CLOTHES TOUR”

Band Performs On “Late Show with David Letterman” June 21st; Opens For The Go-Go’s July 14th In Los Angeles

(New York, NY) – Why do so many people end up liberated from their clothes at Morningwood shows?  The band probes this question as they headline a summer “Tour Off Your Clothes Tour,” a reference to their strip-tastic anthem, “Take Off Your Clothes.”

Fans won’t want to miss what the New York Post described as “Somewhere between a high school pep rally and a lap dance…one of the most visually entertaining, musically seductive concerts in memory.”  The tour kicks off June 13th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with support from Rock Kills Kid, among others.   A full list of confirmed dates is below.

While on the East Coast, the band will perform on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on June 21st.  Then Morningwood will wrap up the tour on the West Coast in mid-July, but before jetting off to the U.K. and Japan they’ll open for the Go-Go’s at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on July 14th.

Morningwood’s self-titled debut album entered Billboard’s “Heatseekers” chart at #1 earlier this year and has been getting a rise out of critics ever since. “[Lead singer Chantal] Claret channels Mae West and Joan Jett with equal zeal,” said Rolling Stone. “Ingenious in a why-did-no-one-else-think-of-that? way,” said Entertainment Weekly, giving it an “A” while Alternative Press posited “If there were a Suicide Girls strip club, where tattooed vixens shook their stuff for extra cash…Morningwood would be blasting in the champagne room.”

Lead single “Nth Degree” has proved a favorite at Modern Rock radio, the band has appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Last Call with Carson Daly,” DIRECTV’s “CD USA” and MTV2’s “Subterranean,” and Claret appears as a commentator on VH1’s “40 Greatest Metal Songs” special, airing throughout the spring and summer.

SASHA

TEAMS WITH INSTANT LIVE AS THE FIRST DJ

TO EVER RELEASE A TRULY LIVE ALBUM;

THE DOUBLE DISC SET WILL BE RECORDED AT

HIS CLOSING FUNDACION PERFORMANCE AT

AVALON IN HOLLYWOOD JUNE 24

Multi-talented DJ/producer/remixer SASHA has teamed up with Instant Live--the premier service provider of on-site concert recording and distribution--for a special release of his Fundacion residency closing party scheduled for Saturday, June 24 at Avalon in Hollywood, CA.  Instant Live will enable fans to immediately purchase a two-plus hour live recording of SASHA’s set and leave the venue with a 2-CD set in hand.  This will mark the first legitimate, truly live album to be officially released by any DJ, ever.

In addition to being the premier live offering from a DJ, SASHA’s association with Instant Live is unique on two counts. He is the first electronic artist ever to join forces with the company (recent Instant Live artists include The Allman Brothers Band, The Dears, The Cult, Yo-Yo Ma).  Secondly, in traditional DJ style, SASHA will mainly be playing other artists’ music.  Historically, most live recordings of DJ sets are bootlegged from radio broadcasts or by a concertgoer.  In an unprecedented move, Instant Live will pre-license all the music in Sasha’s record box, giving him the flexibility to truly perform live without preplanning his set. Unlike bootlegs, every artist on this release will be properly compensated.

“This is an amazing advancement in the use of technology,” says Sasha. “It just blows me away and it is truly exciting that it's possible to do something like this.  This culture, like it or not, was built on bootlegs and now downloads. Instant Live allows me to put my sets directly into the hands of the fans while supporting the music makers. With the artwork and packaging, it will be a great memento of the night.  This music has always been about immediacy, it really is here and now.”

“Instant Live is honored to work with Sasha,” said Stephen Prendergast, general manager of Instant Live. “Not only is he one of the world’s premier DJ’s, but he’s an innovator who has taken the lead with this new concept. At Live Nation/Instant Live, our intent is to develop a legitimate business model for DJ’s, labels, publishers and the creative people who derive a living in the club and dance world.”

Fans will be able to obtain the limited edition--a 10,000 individually numbered run of the 2 CD set--either at the Avalon that night, or pre-order through www.InstantLive.com or www.djsasha.com.  Ryko Distribution will handle the limited brick and mortar release at retail.

SASHA is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative icons of the

electronic genre.  As the DJ that rode into America on a tidal wave of

adoration from the North of England's explosive early 90’s club scene, Sasha

for the last decade has consistently sold out every venue, festival or club

that has been honored to witness his legendary performance abilities. He

propels listeners into the future of electronic music by constructing

innovative and forward-thinking concept albums (Involver, Northern Exposure with John Digweed) and live events (Delta Heavy, Fundacion) that blur the

boundaries between artist and DJ.

AGAINST ME!

AMERICANS ABROAD--AGAINST ME! LIVE IN LONDON

OUT AUGUST 22 ON FAT WRECK CHORDS

"FROM HER LIPS TO GOD'S EARS (THE ENERGIZER)" A/K/A "CONDOLEEZZA" VIDEO UP NOW AT www.againstme.net

"TRULY NEVER GOING HOME" TOUR HITS EUROPE, CONTINUES WITH VANS WARPED TOUR JUNE--AUGUST

Already hailed as one of the country's most important underground punk bands" by THE NEW YORK TIMES, AGAINST ME! continues to spread the "visceral, irresistibly anthemic riot" (ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY) of its current Searching For A Formerly Clarity city to city, country to country, with no end in sight.

AGAINST ME!'s emotionally charged relationship with its fans will be documented this summer with the release of Americans Abroad--Against Me! Live In London, out August 22 on Fat Wreck Chords. The first-ever full length AGAINST ME! live record, Americans Abroad... captures a typically intense sweat-soaked capacity crowd marathon singalong recorded March 21, 2006 at London's Mean Fiddler. In addition to roadworn AGAINST ME! standards "Cliché Guevara," "Sink Florida Sink," "Pints Of Guinness Make You Stronger" and "Don't Lose Touch," the record features the previously unreleased title track, "Americans Abroad." Additionally, Americans Abroad... is an enhanced CD that includes a video the track "Problems" filmed on the band's UK tour.

Meanwhile, a video for frequent AGAINST ME! live show highlight "From Her Lips To God's Ears (The Energizer)" A/K/A "Condoleezza" directed by the cultish cutting edge political animation directors collective known as AAB can now be seen at www.againstme.net. AAB's video for "From Her Lips To God's Ears" is "The Energizer" sets the song's impassioned open letter to the current Secretary Of State to metaphors straight out of The Wizard Of Oz, the Alice books, and employs collage animation reminiscent of vintage Terry Gilliam. The must-see clip follows a rabbit-girl protagonist, tormented in her hole by the constant images of war and destruction. Armed only with a photograph of Condoleezza Rice, she sets off on a Yellow Brick Road of her own - where she encounters fellow travelers burdened by the same questions. Like the Wizard, Rice is shielded inside a temple and hidden behind a screen, but her interrogators bring the edifice crashing down around her. Striking the perfect balance between cartoonish whimsy and apocalyptic portent, the "From Her Lips To God's Ears" video communicates its message of defiance with the sledgehammer force of the songs on Searching For A Former Clarity.

Adam Green

“Jacket Full Of Danger”

 In stores July 25 2006,

 Rough Trade Records

"Blessed with a baritone unmatched in modern pop, he delivers 15 esquistie

ditties on Jacket Full of Danger. They exude a devilish sense of humour and

evoke images of Jim Morrison rifling through the diaries of Vivian Stanshall."

 -Uncut

“Green is a poet of his generation, creating narratives in songs so many of

his age could only wish to invent, and we can only look forward to what he

 comes up with next."-Artrocker

"A Male singer/songwriter who won't have you reaching for the sick bag,

Adam Green writes songs that combine surreal storytelling with witty

wordplay. Part quirky New York Slacker, part old-school crooner, he's

enjoyably more Vic Reeves than Jim Reeves."-Daily Express

Sometime not too long along, a solo artist* casually described his

beautifully surreal music and captivating live performances by saying,

“I just go out there and sing 'em.” When the singer was quoted, he was just

shy of turning 24 years old and being an international pop star. It doesn't

matter who that person was, but what he said does help to illuminate who

Adam Green is at this very moment.

Quite simply, he is a songwriter and an entertainer and one of the most

unique talents in today's pop landscape. Already a veteran performer with

six-plus albums under his belt, the 24 year-old New Yorker has received

massive acclaim overseas-including award for Best International Artist in

Germany-and from his fellow musicians (the Strokes and the Libertines are

both massive fans) for his inspired recordings and performances. With so

much energy being generated across the Atlantic, it's only a matter of time

before the stuffed-up ears of America perk up.

The artist described by the NME as anything from “the charming thrift-store-

Jagger” to Leonard Cohen is very much his own man when it comes to writing

and arranging his music (who else could evoke Johnny Cash, Jim Morrison,

Chet Baker and Ol' Dirty Bastard in the span of just a few songs?) and on

stage, he's a consummate entertainer, cracking jokes, gesturing wildly and

most importantly, pulling out all the stops to make that crucial connection with

his audiences. When you hear him, you can't but bask in his rich baritone

vocals and when you see him perform, you simply can't take your eyes of him.

While his impressionistic (and sometimes vulgar) lyrics display his ebullient

imagination, Green pairs his freewheeling spirit with an attention to detail and

craft to create beautiful and richly layered orchestral songs that owe as much

to Tin Pan Alley as they do to Bowie's work with Eno.

On Jacket Full Of Danger, Green's fourth solo record (July 25/Rough Trade), the

“bedroom troubadour” marries the stylings of Jim Morrison and Johnny Cash

and biting observations of Bill Hicks with a truly bitching band to create a wildly

entertaining ride through the psyche of a 24-year-old New Yorker unloading the

dump truck of ideas in his head.

Listening to Adam's lyrics is like talking to your strangest friend at an unholy

hour when things get creepy and beautiful. Jacket Full Of Danger dispenses

pearls of wisdom like: “Though this is a place of business / where they pay, with

mumbo-jumbo / I have praise for every fantasy / that braves a hairy nipple” but

Adam's focus isn't necessarily the humor that has been central to many past

reviews. “I'm trying to portray a lot of different aspects of my personality with

music, and it's really not just one particular bag. It's not really comedy, and it's

not really romantic stuff either. It's more about rhythms and melodies. The

words are just more just about what I'm thinking about at the time. I think

people that buy my records and come to my shows understand that,” he explains.

Prolific, acclaimed, unique and unpredictable, there's no telling what Green will be

up to next. Most likely, he'll return with yet another amazing batch of new songs

and just “go out there and sing 'em.” The fans will keep screaming, the critics will

keep gushing and Adam will continue to be Adam. He's always been a star and

with Jacket Full Of Danger, we'd like for you to see another side of Adam Green.

FIRST SINGLE  ‘THE DIARY OF JANE’ ARRIVES AT RADIO JUNE 6; BAND TO SHOOT VIDEO IN NEW YORK CITY AND HEAD OUT ON THE ROAD THIS SUMMER

Everyone has a phobia—and BREAKING  BENJAMIN will share theirs August 8 when they release PHOBIA on Hollywood Records.  It’s the much-anticipated follow-up to their explosive platinum 2004 album WE ARE NOT ALONE, which produced a pair of compelling #1 rock hits, “So Cold” and “Sooner Or Later.”

PHOBIA will be launched June 6 at radio with the single “The Diary Of Jane,” a song that impressively builds on BREAKING BENJAMIN’s mix of hard-charging rock, sharp hooks and soaring vocals.  The band--BEN BURNLEY, vocals/guitar; AARON FINK, guitar; MARK JAMES, bass; CHAD SZELIGA, drums--will shoot the video May 25 in New York City and will head out on the road in late July on a major tour (details TBA).

For PHOBIA, BREAKING BENJAMIN rejoined forces with producer David Bendeth, who did the same honors for We Are Not Alone.  “The goal was to make a solid, mature and cohesive record, not just a few singles and filler,” says bassist MARK JAMES.  “We had some time to live with the songs and as a result the album is much more thought-out. I've never felt this strong about any album. This was our second time working with David so everything was a lot smoother this time around.  We've all gotten a lot better at our craft and we knew we needed to take it to a higher level."

"Got a little bit of soul / Got a little bit of rock n' roll in my bones." Thus opens Taught to be Proud, the new studio album from San Francisco's bustling Tea Leaf Green, a band of youthful gypsies with an abundance of both rock & soul. You can feel it in their hair-raising live performances and you can hear it in the headlong rush of their latest release. Conjuring the spirit of '70s Bob Dylan, The Faces, and early Elton John, Tea Leaf Green takes classic sounds and remind us exactly why we lifted our lighters in the air in the first place.

The album, released in November '05 on Reincarnate, comes on the heels of an epic year of growth for TLG. The band's mid-afternoon Bonnaroo set attracted an estimated crowd of 10,000 people, and the buzz has been swelling ever since.   At this year's Jammy Awards, Tea Leaf Green was on site to receive the coveted Song of the Year award for "Taught to be Proud" from the studio album of the same name.  The band is quickly setting the pace in a genre not previously known for skillful songwriting.   Recently, Tea Leaf Green has sold out shows in Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, and others.

 TRISTANIA

SHEDS LIGHT ON NEW ALBUM

We are eager to announce that the new album is completely finished. We are all delighted

with our latest creation, which has been named Illumination. The planned release is in

 September.

Some titles from the album are Sanguine Sky, Open Ground, Lotus, Down and Mercyside, to

mention a few. All titles will be revealed at a later date.

True to tradition, we have made an album with a definite and unmistakably Tristanian

sound, but which also brings a lot of new and fresh material. The album is another

evolutionary step and lets us explore new areas while staying true to our roots.

On every track, the moods and elements are plentiful; ranging from doom to industrial,

from soothing synthesizer passages to technical metal riffs, from dark ballads to classic

goth rock – it's all there. We've used a string quartet on several tracks, which

attributed yet another dimension to those songs.

The collaboration with producer Waldemar Sorychta worked really great; we all worked well

together as a team. We are delighted with the production, which is exceedingly powerful.

Waldemar also came to Norway, prior to going into studio, for two pre-production sessions.

This was a very rewarding process which left us better prepared than ever going into the

 studio.

It is hard to describe the individual songs, but as ever, the material is very diverse. In

a few weeks time, we will post samples from the album online, to give you an impression of

the release. We will also post a video collage from recordings made in Woodhouse Studios,

where we have spent quite some time this spring.

Illumination sports some of the strongest vocal performances from both Vibeke and Østen.

The extreme vocals are less frequent, but the parts appearing on the album are truly

great. We wanted to get someone special to do these parts, and were lucky to get one of

our personal favourites in the field to make a guest appearance on the album; namely Vorph

from Samael. His performance is truly of the highest standard.

The music is written by Anders & Einar, with a couple of tracks co-written with producer

Waldemar during the pre-production in Norway. Østen is the main lyricist, although Einar

has written words for a few songs. Kjartan Hermansen has also once again shared with us

 his skills as a lyricist.

Those of you who will see us on the Evolution Fest in Italy and Mera Luna in Germany this

summer will get to listen to some of the new material – that's a promise. A lot of the new

tracks will be killer live material.  ----TRISTANIA

"Illuminations" is scheduled for release on August 29th through SPV USA.
