Native Instruments releases free BATTERY 3 library add-on with exclusive
artist kits

Native Instruments today released a free library add-on with three artist
drum kits for the acclaimed percussion sampler BATTERY 3. The new kits were
designed by NI endorsees Gorillaz, Einstuerzende Neubauten, and
Turntablerocker, and are based on exclusive custom sounds from these
artists' own productions.

The "Dracula Eastwood" kit by Gorillaz producer Curtis Lynch provides
BATTERY 3 users with high-quality drum sounds destined for all kinds of
urban grooves. It includes an assortment of over 60 bass drums, snares, toms
and hihats that all carry a distinctive vinyl character.

The kit designed by legendary avantgarde rockers Einstuerzende Neubauten
includes a comprehensive selection of their famed custom-built scrap-metal
percussion instruments, recorded in their own studio exclusively for Native
Instruments, and made available to other musicians for the first time.

Berlin-based dancefloor veterans Turntablerocker contributed a special
selection of drum sounds from their "wildstyle" production library. Over 60
drum and percussion instruments cover styles from house to hip hop and
R'n'B.

All three artist kits are now available as a free download for registered
users of BATTERY 3.

THE SUPER SWINGIN' SOUNDS
OF ROB SCHRAB'S
"TWIGGER'S HOLIDAY"

In celebration of Twigger's Holiday being released on DVD on August 7th (Slow January Records), I'm pleased to offer downloads of every audacious musical track from Rob Schrab's hit Internet film series. Part Pee Wee's Playhouse part Adult Swim (every show), RetroLowFi.com says "The songs? They’re just flat-out adorable. I shouldn’t condone a song called 'I Hate Reading,' but I do, and it’s hilarious, not to mention the theme song, whose lyrics are essentially 'Everything’s stupid, everything’s dumb, everything’s retarded, nothing’s ever fun.'"

If you're not familiar with Schrab, then you might want to run out and rent the Academy Award-nominated Monster House (co-writer) or The Sarah Silverman Program (co-creator/writer/director). Or if you're really underground and old school, check out Heat Vision & Jack, the would-be series that Rob co-created which starred Jack Black and Owen Wilson and was directed by Ben Stiller. Be one of the almost 600,000 people to see the pilot on YouTube. Or, if you dig comic books, then pick up Scud: The Disposable Assassin, which Rob created.

PELICAN TO TOUR NORTH AMERICA IN SUPPORT OF 'CITY OF ECHOES'!

Esteemed Chicago instru-metalists Pelican head out on the road this summer in support of their recent release, City of Echoes, out now on Hydra Head Records (tour dates below). Highly regarded for their dynamic live shows, fans across the US and Canada will have the chance to experience the mind-blowing rhythmic journey and superior technical prowess for which Pelican has become known. City of Echoes showcases Pelican's growth as a band with a sharper focus and shorter, tighter songs that are being praised by the likes of Decibel (cover story), Alternative Press, Spin, Billboard, XLR8R, All Music, Filter, Magnet, Planet, and Harp.

PRESS ON CITY OF ECHOES:

True believers, get ready to be born again. City Of Echoes has a broader palette than its three predecessors- but mostly, it puts the metal back in instrumetal. - ALTERNATIVE PRESS

The craft and care put into City of Echoes is a breath of fresh air and puts them back into a musically territorial space all their own. - ALL MUSIC

There is epic music and there is epic music. Chicago instrumental quartet Pelican is proudly guilty of producing the latter, penning tunes so ambitious and triumphant that your everyday life seems insignificant in comparison. - XLR8R

Pelican is a new musical breed, an instrumental-only band that connects the dots between indie rock, punk, and metal.- PLANET

Moribund death metallers GODLESS RISING seeking drummer + second guitarist

Today, GODLESS RISING vocalist Jeff Gruslin announces that the Rhode Island death metal band is urgently seeking a drummer and second guitarist for touring purposes. Rounded out by bassist Justin Flynn and guitarist Paul Flynn - who, along with Gruslin, were the songwriting core of the original Vital Remains lineup - GODLESS RISING are preparing to release their Moribund debut (and second album overall) Battle Lords on July 17th.

GODLESS RISING are the latest addition to Moribund's unmatched cabal of dark, evil death metal. Following last year’s well-received Rising Hatred debut (released by Pathos Productions), GODLESS RISING throw down their weightiest, most wrath-laden gauntlet yet with Battle Lords. Modern black/death muscle meets ancient, old-school filth and blasphemy, a dynamic maelstrom of ageless evil and dread powers – Battle Lords wastes little time in wasting the competition.

Interested parties are encouraged to contact myself or any other representative of the label, or Gruslin directly at STEELCURTAIN1974@aol.com.

MOBY SIGNS TO MUTE NORTH AMERICA

Mute North America is proud to announce that Moby has joined the label's esteemed roster. Moby – who is currently in the studio working on a new album - will now be signed to Mute exclusively throughout the world.

"I've been on Mute everywhere in the world except for North America for the last 14 years, now I'm finally on Mute for North America," says Moby. "I'm happy, because Mute has been my favorite label for most of the last 25 years, and it's nice to finally be on Mute in the country where I actually live."

Since signing to Mute UK in 1993, Moby has sold more than 20-million albums worldwide. His career has been a story of extremes and paradoxes. This intense, driven individual has been a hip underground New York DJ and a punk rock drummer, a determinedly ascetic maker of euphoric dance music, a highly aware environmentalist and social commentator who jumps around stage like a dervish and, finally, a sharply astute advocate of alternative lifestyles who is also one of the biggest music stars in the world.

In addition to working on material for the new album (release date TBD), Moby has launched a redesign of his website. Moby will also be playing a series of DJ dates this summer including:

June 15th NYC, USA Nublu
July 27th Naples, Italy Powerstock Festival
July 28th Jesolo, Italy Il Muretto
July 29th Milan, Italy Amnesia

Tiësto To Play Hammerstein in NYC for Two Back-to-Back Shows 7/19 & 7/20
with Performances by the Blue Man Group, More Tour Dates Announced!

“A wax statue at Madame Tussaud’s. A memorabilia case at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. Playing for a crowd of 200,000 on
a beach in Brazil. Closing this year’s Coachella Saturday night after Red Hot Chili Peppers. Selling out two 25,000-ticket
Amsterdam shows in less then two hours. It sounds like the resume of a classic rock band or red-hot pop star. But it actually
belongs to a DJ/Producer: Dutch phenomenon Tiësto.” Reuters, April 2007

“DJ. For most people, the name conjures images of a mysterious figure hidden away in a booth high above the dance floor,
spinning the current crop of chart-topping tunes. International dance maestro Tiësto is determined to change that image forever.”
Pollstar, June 2007

Coachella Photo Credit: Jen Maler

On July 19th and 20th, the world’s most recognized and widely successful DJ, Tiësto, will perform 2 nights in a row at
NYC’s own Hammerstein Ballroom. These dates are part of his year long world tour for his critically acclaimed third
artist album, Elements of Life, out on the Ultra Records imprint. In addition, fans will be in for quite a surprise when
they see that none other then the Blue Man Group join Tiësto on stage for these 2 shows.

“In this post-post rave world, how does a Dutch DJ demand such adoration that his fans drown out The Cure’s encore at the
Ultra Music Festival with repeated shouts of the man’s name? From the sound of it, Tiësto does it by giving the people all of what
they want, and none of what they don’t…No use fighting it then. Join in the chant.” URB, June 2007

In true Tiësto form, the quality and quantity of equipment used in his live show will be transcendent of everyone’s
expectations. The last 5 years have seen Tiësto move from dance club venues to more challenging and appropriate live
venues and arenas. In turn, attending audiences can expect a stunning show that exhibits production elements that were
built and based upon Tiësto’s new album. With visuals consisting of equipment only used on big budget Hollywood sets,
it’s apparent Tiësto’s standards for his audiences are of the highest in his game. Combining a 450m2 projected backdrop
with built in color LEDs, producing quality visuals in 2xHD quality, 1900dpi, shot on real film with 35 and 55mm
cameras commonly used by many of the world’s top directors in film and music. Nothing short of spectacular, this
production brings the ‘Elements of Life’ to the screen, combining the human form with the elements.

“Trance DJ Tiësto dominated from his main stage position. All hands were in the air as he put his own stamp on Imogen Heap’s
“Hide and Seek” and Moby’s “We Are All Made of Stars” Los Angeles Times, May 2007

“Tiësto in arena mode is like prog rock in its stadium days – not to be missed” LA City Beat, Coachella 2007

Coachella ’07 kicked off the North American leg of this tour, and the second stop is none other
then New York City. New York has always been an amazing place for Tiësto to play; every date he performs here in the
Big Apple hits capacity, tickets sell in vast numbers well in advance, and people trek from afar to see his performances. It
is a show that is to be seen, heard, and, experienced. It has been long known that dance is the bastard genre of music, but
Tiësto has created a bridge that gives audiences from all music’s forms an experience into electronica in its finest essence,
complete with sold-out gigs and screaming fans who are dancing to the sounds of a DJ who feels most at home on stage
entertaining thousands.

Underworld;
Oblivion with Bells

Out October 2007

Tour info:
www.underworldlive.com/index/live-events

www.underworldlive.com

When Underworld released their last album "A Hundred Days off " no one thought it would be nearly 2000 days until
the next one arrived. It hasn't been a case of lazing around in the Essex countryside though as the last 5 years have thrown
up the 1992-2002 anthology album, two major film scores (Anthony Mingellas’ "Breaking and Entering" and Danny Boyles’
2007 "Sunshine"), a self-published typographic journal "In The Belly of Saint Paul", a series of pioneering digital-only
releases, internet-radio broadcasts, a groundbreaking live web-tv broadcast and gig in partnership with Apple and Frankfurts’
techno giants Cocoon and countless gigs around the world.

During all of this action Rick and Karl, with the aid of trusty laptops, a couple of home studios, Abbey Roads’ legendary
facilities and a Pig Shed, have been carefully developing ideas for the new album "Oblivion with Bells", an album that
was finally completed in a flurry of activity and excitement in spring 2007.

True to form Underworld tread their own path through modern electronic music tipping a nod to current sounds, styles and
production techniques but never afraid to let their song writing and musicianship shine out in this digital world.

"Oblivion with Bells" draws heavily on Rick and Karls’ vast array of musical influences (Nick Drake, Def Mix, Ricardo
Villalobos, Can, James Holden, Eno) and experiences performing worldwide to create a truly unique Underworld journey.
The album kicks off like Saturday night with Sven Väth, Simian Mobile Disco and Frankie Knuckles all fighting to get on
the decks, then takes you over the flat fields of rural Essex, through Kings Cross with its olympic dreams and piss stained
alleys, ending blissed out in a hidden cove in Ibiza. Epic techno nestles next to frail acoustics, beatific prose next to sharp
urban observation, amazing sound texturing mixed with mobile phone recordings, rarely has the Underworld palette been
so rich.

The Summer of 2007 sees Underworld playing a handful of European festival dates (where you can expect new material to be
debuted along side deep grooves and some classics from the Underworld jukebox) ahead of their tour, which kicks off in
North America in September:

Saturday, 30 Wild In The Country, Knebworth, UK

SMALL SINS RETURN WITH MOOD SWINGS
Sophomore Album Set For September 25th Release

Astralwerks is proud to announce the release of Mood Swings, the sophomore album from Toronto's Small Sins and the follow up to last year's eponymous debut album Small Sins.

Small Sins was a masterpiece of wistful electro chamber-pop, with hushed stories of love lost and found. The critics agreed, with Blender calling it a “…lovely piece of campfire synth-pop”, and Spin opining- “Imagine if Jack White had a crush on Kraftwerk.” The band toured the US relentlessly, with dates supporting Scissor Sisters, The Kooks, Radio 4, The Little Ones, and Sloan. Mood Swings fuses the power of their live show with their knack for penning addictive hook-laden gems.

Small Sins was originally conceived by Thomas D’Arcy as a self-contained solo unit, with D'Arcy not only singing and playing every instrument on his debut album, but also writing, producing, and recording it entirely on his own. As D'Arcy began to perform live with four exceptional musicians: Steve Krecklo (guitar, banjo, keyboards) Todor Kobakov (keyboards), Brent Follett (drums), and Kevin Hilliard (percussion, handclaps), they found themselves occasionally writing together and talking about future recording plans. It was inevitable that D'Arcy would involve them in the making of Mood Swings.

The album was recorded mostly at D'Arcy's home in Toronto, although not in the traditional sense. D'Arcy wanted to strike a balance between recording on his own and with the rest of the band- thus retaining the intimacy found on Small Sins, while capturing the energy of the live band.

The result is an album that one can mellow out at to home, as well as turn up to feel the power and vitality of the live show. This new vigor is most notably heard on the explosive tale of retribution "On The Line" and the driving "We Will Break Our Own Hearts".

Elsewhere on Mood Swings D'Arcy's recurring themes of longing and revenge are evident on "On The Run" and "What Your Baby's Been Doing"- both songs juxtaposing pensive lyrics with buoyant up-beats. And then there are the guns- references to guns and other weapons are used throughout the entire album as metaphors for power and conflict. All of these contrasting sentiments can be summed up in two words we can all relate to-

Mood Swings.

TRACKLISTING:

1. I Need A Friend
2. Morning Face
3. What Your Baby’s Been Doing
4. On The Line
5. Prove Me Wrong
6. Drunk E-mails
7. On The Run
8. It Keeps Me On My Toes
9. Airport
