After five years as a hinge joint in the downtown district known as The Elbow the BURRO BAR is closing its doors forever. Despite its popularity for live music from Hip Hop to Punk to Indie to Goth/Noise and its draw as a central meeting and drinking destination for downtown events like Art Walk, owner Ian Ranne and his partners facing a substantial rent increase made the decision to close the venue for good after the lease runs out and move on to other projects.

Other venues on the same property including popular eatery CHOMP CHOMP have also already packed up and moved on to a bigger and better location, but with Ian’s other bars RAIN DOGS and Shantytown Pub doing just fine, closing rather than relocating seemed the right direction.

Burro will be put to rest with a huge weekend celebration before they pull the plug and it takes its rightful spot in Jacksonville legend and lore. Below is the info on the services. Black attire optional.
